1 stick butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. self rising four
1 c. milk
2 c. blackberries [fresh or frozen]

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350º
2. Butter a round ceramic pie plate
3. Stir together 1 c. sugar [saving the extra 1/4 c. sugar out] and the flour in a mixing bowl.
4. Add the milk whisking until combined
5. Gently whisk in the butter until smooth
6. Pour batter into buttered dish
7. Sprinkle the blackberries over the top of the batter, distributing them evenly
8. Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 c. sugar over the top
9. Bake 1 hour or until golden
