1/2 c. sifted flour
1 c. cornmeal, I use white cornmeal
1 onion, minced, I use a big onion
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine all ingredients with just enough milk to moisten to a rather stiff dough. Drop from spoon into deep hot shortening (350 degrees) until brown about 3-4 minutes.

I find the more onion you use, the better they taste
Don't use a really large one though.
