3 c. uncooked old-fashioned oats
1 ½ c. flour
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
1 c. butter, melted
¾ tsp. salt (optional, and I opt out)
½ tsp baking soda
1 10-12 oz jar of preserves

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 400 degrees, Grease 13 x 9 baking pan.
In large bowl, combine all ingredients except preserves, mix well. Reserve 1 cup of mixture, press remaining onto bottom of greased pan. Spread preserves evenly over base to within ½ inch of edge of pan, sprinkle with reserved mixture. Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, cut into bars.

I usually use homemade peach or strawberry jam. Old-fashioned oats work best.
