Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 full tsp dry yeast
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 c unsifted flour
1 c warm water
1 egg
Powdered sugar for rolling
Oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
Using a warm bowl mix water, salt, yeast and egg. Mix in flour making a soft dough. Dough must not be thick but firm enough to handle by stretching it with hands to drop in the hot oil. (Do not use Tupperware for mixing unless you want it to rise rapidly.) Otherwise, let dough rise in a warm place, such as oven with pilot. Cover and let rise a couple of hours or even overnight. Can be punched down several times.

To fry, heat oil in pan as for French fries. Stretch a piece of dough with hands and drop into oil, fry until brown on both sides, remove with slotted spoon and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Have a bowl of cold water handy when using this dough. Dip hands in the water each time you stretch a piece of dough. This recipe does not make very much.
