1/4 c. baking powder
4 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening

Directions:
Directions:
Blend flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in shortening as you would for a pie crust. Store in fridge or if used frequently, in pantry.

There was a cookbook called "Make a Mix" that had recipes for things used commonly in the kitchen at the time. It had recipes for homemade Bisquick, taco seasoning, cake mixes, gravy mixes, etc. All the women in Relief Society were making mixes and creating new recipes. This was one of many that were in use when we were growing up.
