Apple Dumplings Recipe

2 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
2 T shortening
7/8 cup sweet milk

1 cup brown sugar
4 tart apples
2 tsp. cinnamon

1 cup sugar
1 T butter
1 T shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup hot water
1/2 lemon sliced

Sift flour, salt, baking powder, work into this the shortening and add milk. Roll out 1/2 inch thick. Spread with butter and add brown sugar, chopped apples and cinnamon. (Roll up as a jelly roll). Cut into 12 slices, place in a buttered pan. Pour over them the sauce and bake 375 for 30 minutes.
