1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup molasses
3 cup flour
1 cup boiling water
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. clove

Mix ingredients together and bake in oven at 350º until the tooth pick come out clean.
