1 c. peanuts (crushed)

Directions:
Mix oats, wheat germ, sunflower seeds, and peanuts (on baking sheet). Toast at 400° for 10-12 minutes, stirring to avoid burning.

Prepare glass 9 x 13 in. baking dish by lining it with waxed paper and spraying the waxed paper with non-stick cooking spray.

Mix brown sugar, honey, butter, vanilla, and salt in a saucepan. Simmer; stirring constantly. (Don’t overcook.)

Mix toasted grains with simmered mixture and dried fruit or chocolate chips.

Dump mixture into the glass dish and spread.

Press down the mixture firmly with waxed paper so that it all sticks together.

Let cool 2 – 3 hrs., cut, and enjoy!

Other variations:
Press almonds into the top of the granola bars once pressed into the pan.
Use dried cranberries, walnuts, and white chocolate chips.
Add flax seed to the mixture.

Essentially, you can experiment in mixing and matching lots of different ingredients.
