2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. cocoa
1 c. water
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
Frosting & nuts

Frosting:
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1/4 c. cocoa
1/3 c. milk
3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In large mixing bowl stir together sugar, flour, soda, and cinnamon. In medium saucepan combine butter, cocoa, and water; bring to boil over medium heat, cooking until butter is melted. Add to sugar-flour mixture; blend. Whip together buttermilk and eggs; blend into batter. Stir in vanilla. Pour into ungreased 9x13" baking pan (can also make with a cookie sheet for thinner cake). Bake for 20 minutes. Five minutes before cake is done, begin to make frosting. Frost cake as soon as it comes from the oven. Sprinkle immediately with chopped nuts, if desired. Cool.

For Frosting: In medium saucepan, combine butter, cocoa, and milk. Bring to boil. Simmer about 3 minutes, remove from heat and add remaining ingredients, blending until smooth. Spread immediately over cake.
