1/2 lb. butter (2 sticks)
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract
6 eggs
3 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
1 cup sweet milk (whole milk)

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and almond extract and blend well. Add eggs, one at a time and continue beating after each addition. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add flour mixture and milk, alternately to creamed mixture and beat well. Pour into large greased and floured tube pan or two loaf pans. Bake at 325ºF for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done with a toothpick.
