* Package of hot dogs (our favorite is Hebrew National)
* 2 cups of yellow corn meal
* 1 1/12 cups of flour
* 1/2 sugar
* 1 TBSP baking powder
* Salt
* 1 egg
* 1 1/2 buttermilk (regular milk is fine as well)
* 1 TBSP honey

Directions:

Heat oil in saucepan.

In a large bowl, add cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir. Then add a beaten egg, buttermilk, a dash of oil and honey. ( I always add more honey). Stir until combined. Batter will be thick.

Remove hot dogs from package and pat dry.

Cut hot dogs into 1/4 in pieces.

Dip the hot dog pieces into the batter then place into the hot oil. Cook for about 2-3 minuets, place on paper towel.

Let cool. Serve with ketchup and enjoy!
