Chicken 1 small chicken, cut up
Vegetable Oil 1/4 cup
Onions 2, quartered
Garlic 2 cloves, minced
Tomatoes 1 1-pound can
Tomato Sauce 1 8-ounce can
Salt 1 teaspoon
Pepper 1/4 teaspoon
Oregano 1 teaspoon dried
Celery Seed 1/2 teaspoon
Bay Leaves 1-2
White wine 1/4 cup
Rice or wide egg noodles

Directions:
Directions:
1. Brown chicken in salad oil; remove.
2. Sauté onion and garlic in same oil; return chicken to skillet.
3. Add remaining ingredients except wine. Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
4. Prepare rice or noodles.
5. Add wine, and cook, uncovered 20 more minutes or till tender, turning occasionally.
6. Remove bay leaves, skim off fat. Put cooked rice/noodles on serving platter, chicken in center of rice or noodles. Ladle sauce over chicken.
