Ingredients:
Ingredients:
12 eggs
1/3 cup whiskey
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups or more sifted flour
3/4 cup cream
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 large jar honey
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine eggs, cream, whiskey, sugar, salt and vanilla. Mix well with electric mixer on low speed. By hand, using a wooden spoon, beat in enough flour to make a light, dry dough. Using a small amount of dough at a time, roll out very thin on a lightly floured board. Using a pastry cutter, cut the strips 6 inches long and 1 inch wide. With a knife, make a 1-inch slit in the middle of each strip. Slip the ends through the slit in the middle to form a bow. Have about 2 inches of oil in electric skillet. Deep fry bows at medium heat until light brown, just a few minutes. Drain on brown paper bags or paper towels. After the bows are cool, sprinkle half of them with powdered sugar. Pour the honey into a saucepan and warm over low heat. When warm, dip the remaining half of the bows gently into the honey, one at a time. Let honey drip off and place on a serving platter. Leave out, lightly covered with waxed paper.

Personal Notes:
When our Italian grandmother came to live with us, she would make this favorite treat for my dad. It was her own recipe, and mom used to watch her as she prepared them without ever measuring a single ingredient. This is mom's version of the recipe.
