1 c. flour
1 c. water (slightly less)
2 tsp. cream of tartar
few drops food coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Boil, stirring constantly until mixture is firm and forms the right consistency for shaping. Cool and it is ready to use!

Mom made play dough for us to play with. This is a recipe that she used that didn't dry out as readily as some of the salt based doughs, and wasn't as messy as some play doughs can be. I made batches of it and took it babysitting. Keeps really well in air tight containers.
