3/4 c. softened butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Roll into small balls. Flatten with a fork. Decorate with sugar sprinkles, or make a depression with your thumb and fill with jam. Can also add food coloring to the dough before baking. Cook about 8 minutes at 325.

Christmas time was cookie time at our house. Mom made these dyed with red and green food coloring, plain with red and green sugar sprinkles, or with raspberry or strawberry jam for a festive holiday look. Quick and easy to make.
