2/3 c. shortening
4 eggs
2/3 c. water
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. ground cloves
2 2/3 c. sugar
1 - 16oz can pumpkin
3 1/3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening and sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs, pumpkin and water. Blend in flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, cinnamon and cloves. Add chips. Pour into pans and bake until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Cook time varies for size of pan at 350º.
Small pan (1c. batter) - 50 minutes
Medium pan -- 1 hour
Large loaf pan (9x5 pan) -- 1 hour, 10 minutes
