1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
1/2 cup sour cream
1 egg, slightly beaten
2 tbsp. onion, grated
1/8 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/4 tsp. salt
butter for browning
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 cups hot water

Sauce:
1/2 cup sour cream
2 tbsp. flour
dash allspice
1/2 tsp. onion salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine beef, pork, bread crumbs, sour cream, egg, onion and spices. Shape teaspoons of meat into balls. Brown in butter. Dissolve bouillon in hot water and pour over meatballs. Cover and simmer 30 minutes. Remove meatballs; set aside. Sauce: Mix all ingredients together. Briskly stir into hot bouillon. Cook over moderate heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Add meatballs. Heat through.

These meatballs are a great hit over the holidays. They were one of my mom's favorite appetizers. Swedish meatballs and herring in sour cream were always part of our Christmas Eve tradition.
