• Ύ cup softened butter
• 1 ½ cup sugar
• 1 ½ cup mashed (3) ripe bananas
• 2 eggs, well beaten
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• Ύ cup chopped walnuts
• Ύ cup chocolate chips
• 2 cups sifted flour
• 1 tsp. baking soda
• Ύ tsp. salt
• ½ cup buttermilk or sour milk

Preheat oven to 325°F. In a large bowl, with an electric mixer, blend softened butter and sugar. Then add eggs, mashed bananas and vanilla. In a small bowl, mix dry ingredients flour, soda and salt. Slowly sift flour mixture into banana mixture, adding buttermilk as you go. Blend in chocolate chips and chopped nuts. Divide combined mixture between two 9” x5” x3” pans, that have been pre-greased and dusted with flour. Bake for approximately 75 minutes, checking for “doneness”. Allow bread to cool completely before removing from loaf pan to serve. Very tasty as is, or top with butter or your favorite jam. Each lofe serves one (if your alone)… two or three if you’re willing to share. :)
