1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup Crisco Shortening
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 cups flour
1/2 cup nuts, chopped
sugar for sprinkling

Directions:
Directions:
In a mixing bowl, cream the butter, shortening and powdered sugar; add vanilla and mix well. Stir in the flour, then nuts. Roll out the mixture to about 1/2 inch thick and cut into shapes. Place onto parchment-lined cookie sheets, then sprinkle with sugar. Bake in a preheated 350º oven until very light brown.

Our Great Aunt Florence lived to a ripe old age of 101 years. The name for these cookies are interesting. We don't know why...maybe because they are light and fluffy like a snowball? They are delicious and who knows, maybe they were her secret to a long and happy life!
