1/2 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
2 1/4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, sugar and egg. Mix in all the other ingredients to make a soft dough. Roll into small balls, dip in sugar and place on parchment-lined cookie sheets. Bake in a preheated 325º oven for 13 minutes or until done.

This recipe is very old, but so very good. These cookies are aromatic and crispy, with just a sprinkle of sugar on the top. You will love them!
