1 c. sugar
3 TB cornstarch
¼ tsp salt
¾ c. cherry juice
1 ½ tsp fresh lemon juice
¼ tsp. red food coloring
¼ tsp. almond extract
2 TB butter
3 c. drained red tart cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ¼ cup sugar, cornstarch and salt in a saucepan. Add cherry juice and cook until thick. Add remaining sugar and cook until glossy. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice, almond extract, food coloring, and 1 tablespoon butter. Add cherries and mix gently. Let cool while preparing crust.
