1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine
2/3 cup maple syrup
1 (3 1/2 oz.) can or 1 1/3 cup flaked coconut
1/4 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
In bowl, stir flour and sugar together. Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Press into 8 x 8 inch baking pan. Bake in a 375º oven for 15 to 20 minutes. Combine coconut, syrup, and salt in small saucepan; cook-stirring often or until coconut absorbs most of syrup (about 8 to10 minutes). Spread over warm crumb mixture and return to oven for 10 minutes. While warm, cut into small bars. Makes 2 dozen.
