Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 cup sifted flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/4 cup shortening
1/3 cup ripe banana
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/3 cup pecans

LEMON FROSTING:
2 T melted butter
1 T hot water
2 T lemon juice
1 cup confectioner's sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the shortening and ripe banana, beating hard for 2 minutes; add egg and continue beating for another minute. Sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture alternately with the milk. Stir in the pecans; spread in a greased, floured 13 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake in over 350º for 22-25 minutes.

FROSTING:
Combine melted butter, hot water and lemon juice. Blend in the confectioner's sugar. Thin with additional hot water, a few drops at a time, if necessary. (I double this recipe and freeze one panful if there are 2 or 3 ripe bananas to use up).

Frost while still warm and cut into bars.
