2 1/2 cup flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 T grated orange rind
1/2 cup butter milk or sour milk

ORANGE ICING:
3 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine, softened
3 T orange juice
2 tsp. grated orange rind

Directions:
Directions:
Spoon flour into measuring cup and level off; pour onto wax paper; add baking powder, soda, and salt to flour; stir well to blend. Cream sugar, butter, eggs, orange rind and vanilla thoroughly; add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, beginning and ending with dry ingredients. Mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoonful onto lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 400º for 8-10 minutes. Cool 1 minute on baking sheet; remove and cool on rack. Frost with the following:

ORANGE ICING:
Combine all ingredients, mixing well. Add an additional teaspoon of orange juice if necessary.
