4 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 1/3 cup shortening
2 1/2 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon flavoring
3 eggs
Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour, soda, cream of tartar and salt together Cream shortening, sugar, vanilla, lemon flavoring and eggs together. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, mixing well. Chill. Roll into balls and flatten with a fork. Bake at 375º 8-10 minutes, You may divide dough and add nutmeats, chocolate drops, M&M's, raisins, dates, etc.
