1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. molasses
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Nuts and raisins to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, shortening, and molasses until creamy. Combine dry ingredients. Mix into sugar mixture. Add buttermilk and mix well. Stir in nuts and raisins. Bake in a large greased and floured pan at 350 º
for about 1 hour or until tester come out clean.
