1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
2 cups sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 cup milk
2 cups blueberries

Topping:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, softened

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg; mix well. Sift flour, salt and baking powder; add alternately with milk. Fold in blueberries. It's a very stiff dough. Put in greased 8-inch cake pan. Topping: Mix ingredients together with a pie crust blender; sprinkle over top. Bake in a preheated 350º oven for 1 hour 15 minutes.

We remember Sunday mornings with great fondness; it always meant coffee cake for breakfast! It was such a treat when mom would make one from scratch. This recipe is so good and when blueberries are in season, it doesn't get any better!
