4 cups sliced summer squash
2 medium onions, thinly sliced
2 tbsp. margarine
2 tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 cup milk
2 ozs. shredded American cheese
1/2 cup buttered bread crumbs

Directions:
Directions:
Cook Squash ,onions in small amount of boiling water until tender. In a sauce pan, melt margarine; blend in flour, salt and pepper. Add milk all at once; cook stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and bubbles. Combine sauce with vegetables. Pour the mixture into a baking dish or pan. Top with shredded cheese and the bread crumbs. Bake 350º for about 25 minutes.
