3 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Filling:
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
6 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl, blend together flour, sugar, butter and salt until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press firmly and evenly into a greased 15x10-inch baking pan. Bake in a preheated 350º oven for 20 minutes. Remove and set aside. Filling: In another bowl, combine first five filling ingredients. Stir in pecans. Spread evenly over hot crust. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes or until set. Cool on a wire rack.

These bar cookies taste like pecan pie on steroids. They are not difficult to make and people love them. They are perfect for the holidays, especially after you have eaten too much dinner and just want a small bite of something sweet for dessert!
