1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 1/4 cups quick-cooking oats
1/4 cup milk
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup raspberry, strawberry, cherry, pineapple, apricot or peach preserves

Directions:
Directions:
In a medium bowl, cream butter and sugar together. Mix in oats and milk. Sift flour, soda and salt together; add to creamed mixture. Roll a rounded tablespoon of dough into a ball and place on parchment-lined cookie sheets. Press a 1/2 teaspoon measuring spoon into the dough and fill with preserves. Bake in a preheated 350º oven for 15 minutes.

This type of cookie recipe has been around forever and everyone seems to have their own favorite version of "cookies with a bit of jam on top." The nice thing about this recipe is it doesn't contain any nuts, just oatmeal, so people with nut allergies don't have to worry!
