34 c. sugar
1/4 c. Crisco shortening
1 egg
1 mashed banana
1 c. all purpose flour, unsifted
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. ntus

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening with wooden spoon in bowl. Beat in egg with wooden spoon. Add 1 mashed banana to creamed mixture. Mix dry ingredients together. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture s alternately with buttermilk. add 1/4 c. chopped nuts (black walnuts are good.) Bake in muffin tins at 350º for 10-15 minutes. Yields 1 dozen good-sized cupcakes.
