1/2 cup sour dough starter (see recipe in this section)
2 cups flour
2 cups lukewarm water
NEXT DAY
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp. melted shortening or oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 Tbsp. warm water

Directions:
Directions:
Beat until smooth and let stand at room temperature overnight. In morning add 2 Tbsp. sugar, 1 tsp. salt and 3 Tbsp. melted shortening or oil and beat in 2 eggs. Dissolve 1 tsp. baking soda in 1 Tbsp. water and fold in gently. DO NOT STIR after baking soda is added. Pour on hot griddle and fry until golden brown.

Waffles: You can use the same as above, but beat your egg whites until stiff and fold in with the baking soda mixture at the end.
