1 lb. head rice
1 pkg. Chinese Mein noodles or very fine regular noodles
1/2 lb. butter

Wash rice thoroughly a number of times. Bring water to boil in large 6 qt. pot. Add salt, let boil again, add rice. Let boil until almost done, about 8 minutes or al dente. Pour into colander, rinse off slightly with lukewarm water.

Place noodles in flat pan, like a cookie sheet, and lightly brown in oven at low heat. Keep an eye on the noodles. They will burn quickly! Have water boiling, add salt and toasted noodles. Let cook till al dente, approximately 8 minutes. Drain in colander, rinse with lukewarm water.

Combine rice and noodles in roaster with butter and steam about 1/2 hour or longer. Serve hot!
