1 lb. asparagus pieces
1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg (optional)
milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cook fresh or frozen asparagus in small amount of water till tender. Drain, reserving liquid. Cook onion in butter until soft. Stir in flour and seasonings, cook and stir till pasty. Add enough milk to reserved asparagus liquid to make 1 quart. Add to flour mixture, cooking and stirring until slightly thickened. Twirl 3/4 of the cooked asparagus in blender. Add all asparagus to milk mixture and heat through. Makes about 6 servings.
