1/3 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp. vinegar
3 tbsp. brown sugar
3 tbsp. white sugar
1 tsp ginger
2 cloves garlic crushed
1/3 cup water

1 lb. bacon
3 to 4 can whole water chestnuts
toothpicks

Directions:

In a bowl mix first 7 ingredients together. Set aside

Cut bacon to fit around one water chestnut, wrap the water chestnut with the bacon, secure with toothpick. Place in covered container, repeat until you run out of bacon or water chestnuts.

Pour sauce over water chestnuts wrapped in bacon, cover and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place water chestnuts on cookie sheets, brush with sauce. Bake until bacon is crisp. You may brush with remaining sauce every 15 minutes until done.
