4 c oats
1 c coconut
1 c of each pecans, walnuts and almonds-all chopped
1/4 c peanut topping
1/4 c sunflower seeds
1 T milled flaxseed
1/4 c wheat germ
1 T whey protein powder
1 T brown sugar
2 T water
1 T oil
1/2 c honey
1 c maple syrup
1 tsp almond extract
1 to 2 c dried fruit- we like to use raisins, blueberries, cherries or other berries

Preheat oven to 275 degrees. Mix the first 9 ingredients together in a large bowl. Set aside. In a sauce pan, mix together water, oil, honey and maple syrup. Bring to a simmer- just about to a boil. Pull pan off burner and add almond extract. Pour liquid over the dry mix a little at a time until everything is coated. Add in dried fruit. Once all is mix pour into greased cookie sheets and spread evenly. Bake for 30 minutes, pull out and stir and bake for another 15 minutes.

Tom has made this granola for years and has perfected it. This is a main staple for his breakfast. Very rarely do we not have it in the house.
