Pastry: 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese softened
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup flour
Blend cream cheese and butter. Stir in flour. Chill for 1 hour. Shape into 2 dozen balls, press into 1 3/4 inch muffin tins.

Filling: 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
Pinch of salt
2/3 cup pecan pieces
1 tsp. butter
Beat egg, sugar, vanilla. butter and salt until smooth. Add pecans. Carefully fill pastries and bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool and remove from muffin tins.
