1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
5 oz. package vanilla pudding
3 cups milk
2 cups Cool Whip

Directions:
Directions:
Heat butter & brown sugar in sauce pan until butter is melted. Stir in nuts. Spread in bottom of 8x8 pan. Bake at 450 degrees for 5 min. Cool. Prepare pudding as box instructs. Cool 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove 1 c. of pudding, cover with saran wrap, and chill thoroughly. Pour remainder into pie shell; chill. Fold the cool whip into the l c. of pudding and layer in the pie shell. Garnish with cool whip and chopped pecans. You can also layer fresh fruit between the two pudding layers: bananas, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries.
