¼ cup tahini (sesame paste) – at Krogers. Keeps in fridge for months. Note: Original recipe called for ¼ cup – to save calories, I’ve cut back to 2 Tbsp and it still tastes good…
1 tsp cumin
½ tsp salt
2 large cloves garlic, finely chopped
3 Tbsp lemon juice
3 Tbsp hot water
1 19 oz can chick-peas (garbanzo beans) – drained & rinsed (Bush’s garbanzo’s are excellent)
Chopped fresh parsley (optional)



Directions:
Directions:
Pureé chick-peas in food processor. Add tahini mixture and mix well. Add remaining ingredients except parsley and blend. Serve in bowl and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

Makes 1 ½ cups. Stores well in refrigerator
