"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Directions:
Place the brisket in a dish and cover with 4 cups of Coca-Cola and marinate, covered in the refrigerator overnight.

Brown the meat in oil at medium-high temperature.

Place sliced onions in the bottom of the pot and put the browned brisket on top of them in a heavy Dutch oven or other pot with a lid.

Combine: Onion soup mix, I cup Coke, 1 cup ketchup, and 1 cup of water. Pour this over the meat. Throw in the 2 bay leaves Cover and begin baking at 375.

Bake as follow: 1 hour at 375 degrees
1 hour at 350 degrees
2 hours at 325 degrees

Turn the meat and baste every hour. If yours happens to dry out, you can add water though if the pot is heavy and well sealed. I have not had to add liquid.
