Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 tbsp. butter
3 tbsp. cottage cheese
3 eggs
1/8 tsp salt
1 pound flour (approx. 3 1/3 cups)
½ cup milk (more or less)
10-12 plums or 6 peaches

Directions:
Directions:
Fill large pan with water and set on stove to boil. Sprinkle some salt in if desired.

Cream butter with cottage cheese. Add eggs, salt, flour and milk and mix to make a stiff dough. Beat thoroughly (if you have a dough hook, use it) If you do not have a stand mixer with a dough hook or paddle attachment, mix most of the way and then turn it out on a floured surface and knead until well mixed. Roll dough out and cut into small pieces. Flatten each piece and roll a half a plum (or piece of peach) into it. Seal shut by pulling opposite corners up, pinch and pinch sides to close. Depending on the size of your pan, place dumplings into boiling water about 6 at a time, taking care not to crowd the pot too much. Boil for 10 minutes, place in a colander to drain slightly and serve. Fruit dumplings are torn in half with two forks and sprinkled liberally with melted butter and plain sugar or cinnamon and sugar, cottage cheese or poppy seeds. You may also use peaches, apples, blueberries, raspberries or other fruits. Dobrou chuť! (Enjoy your meal!)

Grandma made these every summer with peaches and Italian prune plums. We ate them with butter and cinnamon and sugar until we were so full we couldn't move.
