"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2½ c. – pretzels, coarsely chopped
1 c. plus 3 T. – sugar
13 T. – butter OR margarine, melted
2 (8 oz.) cartons – Cool Whip
1 (8 oz.) pkg. – cream cheese, softened
6 oz. box – strawberry Jell-O
16 oz. bag – frozen whole strawberries
2 c. – boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°. With a sharp knife, slice the frozen strawberries into thin slices and set aside. Mix pretzels with 3 T. of the sugar and all of the margarine. Spread in an un-greased 9 x 13 pan and bake in 350° oven for 10 to 15 min. Allow pan to cool in the refrigerator or freezer while preparing the next layers. With hand mixer, mix 1 cup of sugar with the cream cheese until smooth and then add 1 of the cartons of Cool Whip. Spread over cooled pretzel mixture. Again, allow the pan to cool in the refrigerator or freezer to prepare for the next layer. In a large mixing bowl, pour the boiling water over the Jell-O and stir until dissolved. Add the sliced strawberries and let stand until the Jell-O/strawberry mixture is partially set. When the baking pan has cooled off sufficiently and the Jell-O mixture is partially set, pour the Jell-O mixture over the cream cheese layer. Once the dessert is completely set, spread the remaining carton of Cool Whip over the top.
