1/4 c (50 ml) butter softened
1 c (250 ml) shredded old Canadian cheddar cheese
2 tbsp. (30 ml) grated Canadian parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp (1 ml) Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp (1 ml) salt
pinch dry mustard
1/2 c (125 ml) all purpose flour
1 egg beaten
poppy seeds

Directions:

Cream butter. Beat in cheddar cheese, parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, salt and mustard. Blend in flour to form a stiff dough and roll into a ball. Chill 1/2 hour. Using hands on floured board roll heaping teaspoons to form 6" (15 cm) pencil-like ropes about 1/4" (6 mm) thick. Pinch ends together and twist several times. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, brush with egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake in preheated 375ºF (190ºC) oven 12 to 15 min or until golden brown.
