1 lb. candied cherries
1 lb. candied pineapple
5 (8 oz.) pkgs. dates
1 lb. (4 cup) pecans
3 cups all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. lemon extract
2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Cut fruit in small pieces; coarsely chop pecans. Sift flour, soda, and salt together; and sift again over fruit and pecans. Cream butter and sugar until light; add beaten eggs and mix well. Stir in vanilla extract, lemon extract, and cinnamon. Stir in flour-covered fruit. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet, and bake at 300º for about 25 minutes. (I cut the time to about 15 minutes.)
NOTE: Mother used less dates and more candied fruit. She also put in candied peels.
