2 pkg. beans (pinto, red, black, peas, etc.)
1 salt pork (diced before the trip)
1 small jalapeņo
1 tbsp. baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
The night before: Place beans and baking soda in large pot and cover.
Before departure: Add salt pork and jalapeņo pepper. Bring to a boil.
Secure over LOW heat. Cook while underway.
Upon arrival (or at least 6 hours later): Dish up and serve.
Leftovers: Drain, add Mexican salsa and chopped onion, celery and peppers. Chill and serve.
