1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. fast cooking oatmeal (uncooked)
1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Pour water over oats; let stand 20 minutes. Beat batter until creamy, gradually beat in sugars. Blend in vanilla and eggs. Stir in oat mixture. Sift flour, baking soda, salt and spices. Add to cream mixture. Blend well. 9x13 greased and floured pan. Bake 350ºF. for 40-45 minutes.
FROSTING FOR CAKE::
1/4 c. melted oleo,
3 Tbsp. cream,
1/2 c. brown sugar,
1/2 c. chopped nuts,
3/4 c. coconut.
Mix together and spread on cake. Broil several minutes.
