2 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. anise seed
3 eggs
2 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Using electric mixer, beat eggs and sugar for 15 minutes. On a floured board, shape dough into ropes 1/2" inch in diameter. Chill one hour. Slice the ropes into 1/2" in lengths. Bake on greased sheet at 350ºF. for 6-8 minutes or until set. Cookies will harden on standing. Store in airtight container. Cookies are best if they age before serving. Yield: 30 dozen

This recipe was from my husband, Jerrie's mom, Irene Johannes (deceased). It's a holiday cookie, good with coffee. Put into coffee to make softer. (Good all winter)
