Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1/2 loaf soft French bread cut into 12 (1/2 inch thick) slices
6 slices cooked ham about 1/4 inch thick
6 slices Cheddar or Muenster
6 eggs; slightly beaten
2 cups milk
1 tsp Dijon mustard

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 325º. Adjust racks to upper and lower-middle positions. Arrange bread in single layer on baking sheet. Baked until dray and lightly golden, about 25 minutes. Rotate baking sheets front to back and top to bottom halfway through cooking. Allow bread to cool.

Spray 2-quart (11-inch x 7-inch) baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place ½ of the bread in single layer on bottom of baking dish. Top bread with ham and cheese. Top with remaining bread.

Whisk together, in medium bowl, eggs, milk and Dijon mustard. Pour mixture slowly over baking dish. Cover; refrigerate 6 hours or overnight. I like to weight down the casserole by covering with plastic wrap and putting a plate on top and adding weight. (A foil wrapped brick or large canned goods work well.)

Heat oven to 350° F. Bake, uncovered, 50-55 minutes or until golden brown and knife inserted in center comes out clean.
