1 c. powder sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tsp imitation almond extract
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp salt
Red Food Coloring
Topping:
1/2 c. crushed candy canes
1/2 c. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix powder sugar,butter, shortening,egg,extracts ,flour and salt. Divide dough in half. Color one half red.
using a TBS at a time roll a white dough log and roll a red dough log then roll them together lightly. Form it into candy cane shape or leave as log approximately 5 inch long . Place on parchment paper covered pan an inch apart Bake @ 375º 9 minutes until set. Mix Candy and sugar sprinkle hot cookies with topping mixture.
