3-4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 C. Butter, softened
1/4 cup + 2 T. sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 (1/4-ounce) or 1 T. package active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water , 105°F to 115°F
1/2 cup water
2 Eggs
1/2 cup apricot preserves or other filling dates, prunes, lemon, poppyseed, raspberry, blueberry, cherry etc.

Glaze
2/3 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 to 3 teaspoons milk

Directions:

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup water. Add 1/4 cup sugar and butter. Add salt, eggs, 1/2 cup water and 3 cups flour. Blend. Knead adding more flour if necessary. Let rise until double. Roll out until very thin. Cut into squares. Add filling to middle and fold opposite corners to middle. Pinch together. Place on greased baking sheet and let rise for 15 minutes. Bake in 400º for 10-15 minutes or until brown.
